The most anticipated Cheval Blanc Paris will open its doors on September 7th. The first city hotel in the LVMH Hotel Management collection is a splendor in itself. Offering handcrafted interiors, panoramic views of the Seine, an exceptional art collection, Cheval Blanc Paris was entirely designed by famous New York architect Peter Marino. âWe work with architects who know residential well and of course Peter is one of themâ said Olivier Lefebvre, director of hotel activities at LVMH.
Peter Marino who has realized several boutiques for Dior, Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Chanel has created a palace inside the Parisian monument of the Belle Epoque La Samaritaine, founded in 1870 by the French entrepreneur Ernest Cognacq. This House symbolizes French luxury and honors exceptional artists and extraordinary know-how. More than 600 French artists from ceramists to painters or textile designers and furniture manufacturers have collaborated on this colossal project. The property enjoys an idyllic location in the heart of Paris, in the dynamic arty 1st arrondissement, facing the Seine, the Pont Neuf at its feet and a spectacular 360-degree view of the city.
Notre Dame, La Conciergerie, the Sacré Coeur, Les Champs Elysées, the views are incredible wherever you are in the hotel. It is the only palace in Paris located by the river, facing the Seine. Truly unique.
In 2001, Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, bought the two adjoining buildings of the La Samaritaine department store. Inaugurated on June 23, 2021, La Samaritaine opens its doors on rue de Rivoli. Right next door, inside the building designed by Henri Sauvage in 1928 on the Quai du Louvre stands the first urban address of the LVMH hotel group, which has 72 rooms and suites dedicated to offering an exclusive and confidential experience to Cheval Blanc guests. .
“Peter has achieved something that did not exist in Paris, he has definitely reinvented the codes of luxury. explains Olivier Lefebvre. All suites offer breathtaking views of Paris, amenities and technology. A true residential palace of luxury and easy living.
Art is in the DNA of the Cheval Blanc brand and one of the key elements of the property. Upon entering through the discreet hall door, the contemporary and very impressive hall with its high ceilings evokes all the codes of luxury. Inside, two new orders of 12-foot-high colorful prints of the Eiffel Tower by Brazilian artist Vik Muniz hang on a wall and a huge 6-meter-high blue abstract painting by French artist Georges Mathieu dated 1978 on another. A prancing horse -symbol of Cheval Blanc- designed by French architect Frank Gehry stands alongside modern and colorful furniture by French artists such as designer André Dubreuil and Thierry Leproust to name a few. Each piece of furniture has been made to measure and carefully found for the hotel. From works of art by Tony Cragg, Martin Kline to lithographs by Charlotte Perriand from the 1930s, walking around the property is like stepping into the world of art. Art is living with the guests.
The Spa Dior at Cheval Blanc Paris invites its guests to a holistic immersion in the world of the Dior house. To access it, the spiral staircase whose walls are covered with a metallic weave created by textile designer Sophie Mallebranche. It is already an invitation to a haven of peace, a Dior cocoon.
Spa Dior has a 30-meter swimming pool at the same level as the Seine. An architectural feat that took two years to achieve. The curved swimming pool with its handcrafted blue mosaics by Michael Mayer offers an ode to calm in the hustle and bustle of the city. 43 skin treatments are offered to clients in six different treatment rooms.
And of course, François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator has imagined a sophisticated perfume exclusively for the Spa Dior Cheval Blanc Paris. “Both Cheval Blanc and Dior teams have worked hand in hand to create such a level of wellness and beauty experience for our guests. says Olivier Lefebvre. Each treatment room with its different motif is an allusion to the life of Christian Dior. For Peter Marino, who had worked for Dior for 30 years, it was an easy job. The result is obviously grandiose.
The property offers four bars and restaurants and the room service menu called Carte Blanche which is on par with the restaurants. The three-star Chef Arnaud Donckele – already at La Vague d’Or at Cheval Blanc St Tropez – invites you to the new gastronomic destination Plenitude.
Le Limbar, the contemporary brasserie Le Tout-Paris and Langosteria – the emblematic Milanese restaurant founded by Enrico Buonocore, which will be the first outside Italy – invite you to fill yourself as if by magic.
There is so much to discover. As in the other Maisons of the group in Courchevel, St Tropez, St Barth or Randheli, the attention to detail which makes the customer feel pampered and exclusive is at its highest level. The flow of people has been studied inside the hotel, the elevators are different if you are staying on the property or coming from outside. “The work focused on the flow of people is also a key element in the design of our hotels â adds Olivier Lefebvre.
This gives the Cheval Blanc experience an even more personal touch. The most enchanting hotel in the City of Light is now more than ready to make its guests dream. Now that Cheval Blanc Paris is finished, Peter Marino is designing the first American address for the LVHM hotel group currently under development in Beverly Hills.
